The E-MB electric car supports PT GED Lintas Indonesia’s logistics distribution mode

PT GED Lintas Indonesia, a provider of domestic and international shipping services, in collaboration with Pertamina and PT Prima Armada Raya (PAR) to introduce the E-MB electric car as a support for logistics distribution modes. The move is part of the company’s efforts to help meet its goal of reducing all logistics-related emissions and supports the achievement of SDG 7 on Affordable and Clean Energy and SDG 13 on Climate Action.

Delivery of electric vehicle units in the form of E2W pilots including BSS (Battery Swapping Station), batteries and electric motors was carried out on September 18 2022 by PT Wiksa Daya Pratama. Unit installation was carried out on Wednesday, September 20, followed by training conducted by DFSK on September 23, 2022.

Equipped with a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery with a capacity of 42 kWh which can cover a distance of 300 km on a single charge, this new electric vehicle is claimed to be able to travel up to 200-220 km with full load conditions. This new fleet will be optimized to deliver shipments in the Jakarta area. Besides being able to reduce carbon emissions compared to conventional commercial vehicles, the E-MB is also free from air pollution and is quiet when used.

Apart from electric cars, PT GED Lintas Indonesia is also working with PT Wiksa Daya Pratama in procuring electric motorbikes. These electric motorbikes help couriers become more efficient in picking up and dropping off shipments, as the vehicle’s agility avoids problems around traffic jams while reducing carbon emissions. According to him, in the 2020 climate transparency report, the transportation sector contributes nearly 27 percent of total carbon emissions in Indonesia. Given that logistics is the backbone of the economy, this sector has a responsibility and a role in reducing carbon footprint.

As a logistics company that has been operating in Indonesia for a long time, PT GED Lintas Indonesia also wants to set an example by making our logistics environmentally friendly. The E-MB electric vehicle reinforces the company’s commitment to zero-emission goals and to achieve more sustainable operations.
